Selling VIAGRA CONNECT® in the pharmacy

The following screens are about the consultation process for VIAGRA CONNECT®.

Your pharmacy may have set protocols for the sale of VIAGRA CONNECT®. Since the product is now more than a year old, your pharmacist may not need to be involved in every consultation, and they may be happy for trained team members to take this on.

The VIAGRA CONNECT® Pharmacy Checklist is used to help with conversations about product suitability.
Click each number below to find out more.

as

1. Who is VIAGRA CONNECT® for?

VIAGRA CONNECT® is for men aged 18 or over with symptoms of ED.

You may need to clarify that it is ED, and not another problem, such as premature ejaculation.

If it is a repeat supply and nothing has changed in terms of the man's medication or medical history, you may sell the product after authorisation from the pharmacist. The man should be reminded to see his GP within 6 months of the initial supply of VIAGRA CONNECT®.

If he has previously had it on prescription, at the same strength, he may be suitable for VIAGRA CONNECT®. Go through the Checklist with the man then seek advice from the pharmacist as to whether he is suitable for VIAGRA CONNECT®.

as

2. Check patient's cardiovascular (CV) health

Any concerns about heart health, physical fitness or breathlessness should be referred to the pharmacist.

VIAGRA CONNECT® is not suitable for men who experience chest pain with light/moderate activity.

as

3. Check the concomitant medication use

The man should be asked about other medication(s) they are taking.

You may want to ask if they are taking any prescription medicine(s), OTC or recreational drugs. If so, make a note and refer to the pharmacist.

Medicines containing nitrates (these may be used for angina) must NOT be used together with VIAGRA CONNECT® due to the risk of a dangerous fall in blood pressure.

as

4. Check concomitant conditions

This section is used to check for any medical conditions that would mean they cannot purchase VIAGRA CONNECT®.
