Nytol for short-term sleep disturbances

Nytol contains diphenhydramine. It blocks histamine’s effects and is clinically proven to provide all-round sleep cycle support, helping your customer to drift off quickly,18 improve their quality of sleep17 and wake up feeling refreshed.18

Should be taken 20 minutes before going to bed

customer’s sleep pattern to get their natural rhythm back.

CONSIDERATIONS BEFORE MAKING A RECOMMENDATION17

Customers should avoid concomitant use of alcohol or any other antihistamine-containing products. They should not drive or operate machinery.

Side effects

Fatigue, hypersensitivity reactions, confusion, paradoxical excitation, sedation, drowsiness, dizziness, thickening of bronchial secretions, dry mouth, gastrointestinal disturbances, muscle twitching, headache, blurred vision, tachycardia, palpitations, convulsions, urinary difficulty, urinary retention.

Contraindications

Customers should not take Nytol:

  • If they have ever had an allergic reaction to diphenhydramine hydrochloride or any of the other ingredients
  • If they have an obstruction in their stomach or gut (for example, because of an ulcer)

Cautions

Nytol should be used with caution if they have:

  • Asthma, bronchitis or chronic obstructive pulmonary disease (COPD)
  • Narrow-angle glaucoma (a form of raised pressure in the eye)
  • An enlarged prostate or urinary retention
  • Moderate to severe liver or kidney disease
  • Myasthenia gravis, epilepsy or seizure disorders

Use Nytol with caution in the elderly and avoid in elderly patients with confusion. Customers due to undergo allergy tests will need to stop taking Nytol as it may affect their test results.
