Adults aged 18 and over: For frequent heartburn and acid reflux, take 1 tablet a day for up to 24-hour protection. Can be used for up to 2 weeks20

NOTE: Tablets should be swallowed whole, not crushed or chewed. The tablets can be dispersed in a glass of water and the liquid with the pellets drunk immediately (or within 3O minutes).

MANAGING FREQUENT HEARTBURN
You can recommend Guardium as appropriate for patients with frequent heartburn.
As it may take a few days to have full effect, recommend Gaviscon Advance for any breakthrough symptoms.
Guardium can only be used for two weeks. If necessary, Gaviscon Advance can then be used to treat symptoms of acid reflux.20
If symptoms do not improve after taking Guardium for 14 days in a row, refer them to their GP.
