Within the store, you can use promotional material including:

Shelf education: Additional material about conditions and treatments to educate customers on the right products for them. This could include shelf strips or small educational plinths
Dummy packs: To highlight where P (Pharmacy-only) products are available to purchase from the pharmacy counter
Shelf edge promotions: e.g. special offer barkers (also called shelf talkers - used for displaying prices/promotional information)

Think about your display

Shelves should ideally follow a planogram (a tool showing how and where specific products should be placed on retail shelves in order to increase customer purchases). The shelves should be neatly arranged, with products pulled forward and without gaps. All prices should be clear. When displaying products, remember that shoppers tend to be drawn to the 'hotspot' (the section of the shelving that is at eye level) and scan shelves from left to right. Avoid having 'dog-legs', where a range is split over several shelves. Ensure you have the right categories placed together to aid a logical shop for the customer.
