Pfizer outlines training programme for Viagra Connect

Pfizer Consumer Healthcare will be running “its largest pharmacy training programme to date” for pharmacists and pharmacy assistants in advance of the launch of Viagra Connect (sildenafil 50mg) as a P medicine for the treatment of erectile dysfunction in men aged over 18 years.

A variety of training methods are being used to accommodate a diverse range of learning styles, including e-learning modules, face-to-face sessions with Ceuta representatives and regional meetings. Trade press, feature articles and advertising activity will also support the programme.

Tailored content will be available for pharmacy assistants, who may be the first point of contact for men presenting to the pharmacy with ED symptoms.

Digital training is also available via hcp.viagraconnect.co.uk, including educational videos, interactive content and print-and-keep resources. The online package includes essential information for the supply of Viagra Connect, access to a pharmacy checklist to help guide assessments, an overview of potential patient scenarios, and support on how to manage conversations about erectile dysfunction.

“The introduction of Viagra Connect presents a new opportunity for pharmacists to engage male customers in broader conversations about their health,” says Pfizer medical manager, Kristie Sourial.
