The Medicines and Healthcare products Regulatory Agency has issued a class 3 recall for a batch of methadone tablets.
The MHRA said this morning that manufacturer Martindale Pharma was recalling a batch of its Methadone 5mg Tablets / Physeptone 5mg Tablets (PL 01883/0062) “as a precautionary measure due to the discolouration of the PVdC film in a small number of blister pockets”.
The recall affects batch number 128139, which consists of packs of 50 tablets with an expiry date of 09/2025.
Pharmacists are advised to stop supplying products from this batch immediately, and should quarantine all remaining stock and return it to their supplier.
