Roche Diabetes Care has cut the cost of its Accu-Chek Instant 50 strips.

A new NHS list price of £5.95, down from £7.50, is expected to come into effect on September 1.

Accu-Chek Instant is a connected blood glucose monitoring system featuring Bluetooth enabled connectivity that allows for wireless transfer of blood glucose results to the mySugr app. Data from the app can be shared via a dedicated platform in near real-time.

Sean Gaffney, general manager, commented: “It is clear that pricing, within the self-monitoring blood glucose segment, has become increasingly important. As a business, we endeavor to remain competitive whilst continuing to work in partnership with the NHS.”
