Halesowen MP James Morris has replaced Maria Caulfield as the Government minister most directly involved with the pharmacy sector.
Mr Morris was appointed parliamentary under secretary of state for primary care and patient safety on Friday (July 8). This followed Ms Caulfield’s promotion to minister of state as part of an extensive reshuffle last week after dozens of ministers resigned in the days leading up to Boris Johnson’s announcement of his intention to retire.
Mr Morris, who previously worked in the whips’ office, said on Twitter that he was “honour to have been appointed” to the parliamentary under secretary role.
"We are putting record levels of investment into our NHS and our care services, as we help them bounce back from the challenges of the pandemic."
