Duchess of Cornwall praises pharmacy teams in Sussex visit

The Duchess of Cornwall meets pharmacy workers in Sussex

The Duchess of Cornwall met with community pharmacy workers in East Sussex yesterday to learn about the role pharmacies have played during the Covid-19 pandemic.

She met staff from independent multiple Kamsons Pharmacy at the Meads Medical Centre in Uckfield, including pharmacists, a trainee pharmacy technician, a medicines counter assistant and a delivery driver, as well as senior management.

She officially opened the Kamsons Pharmacy offices and warehouse, where she was given a tour and shown how the company uses robots to transport medicines.

Speaking at the event, the Duchess said: “May I thank you for the wonderful job you’ve done throughout the pandemic. I’ve been told by many people it’s been difficult but you’ve struggled through it and given a wonderful service to everybody.”

Kamsons Pharmacy director Bharat Chotai said: “We were delighted to welcome the Duchess of Cornwall and she took a genuine interest in our staff who have continued to serve their local populations throughout the last year in extremely difficult circumstances.

“We are also very proud of the loyalty of our staff and are delighted that their contribution has been recognised by Her Royal Highness.”
