The countdown is on for the Summary Care Record (SCRa) application portal to be replaced by the National Care Records Service (NCRS) on Friday (September 29).

Both the SCRa and NCRS portals are accessible until the launch date.

The NCRS enables pharmacy professionals to:

• View the previous Summary Care Record
• Access further information such as NHS Record Locator data and access documents
• Experience an improved look and feel compared to SCRa.
• Enable easier access on mobile devices.

Community Pharmacy England is encouraging contractors to start using the new NCRS portal before the SCRa portal is finally phased out. There is an online check to see if systems are ready to use NCRS.
