Pharmacy technicians working for Boots are to have half the cost of professional body membership covered by the company, it was announced yesterday (Monday March 25).
Boots said it would reimburse its pharmacy technician employees 50 per cent of the Association of Pharmacy Technicians UK’s £48-per-annum membership costs in 2019-20. This is a UK-wide offer, the company confirmed.
Boots UK chief pharmacist Marc Donovan said: “I am delighted to announce that we will now reimburse 50 per cent of the cost of APTUK membership. APTUK membership offers many benefits and we want to make it even more affordable for our pharmacy technicians to take advantage of these.”
APTUK president Liz Fidler said: “I would encourage pharmacy technicians employed by Boots to utilise this amazing offer, which will enable professional development support and enable a stronger voice for pharmacy technicians working in this sector.
“APTUK has a range of tools to support professional development and actively encourages attendance at local branches. The Association is keen to work with Boots pharmacy technicians to support developing a virtual branch.”
