Staff from Alliance Healthcare and its network Alloga raised over £10,000 for Action Medical Research after cycling, canoeing and hiking along the Jurassic Coast.
Over 30 people took part in the event, known as the Race the Sun Jurassic Coast Challenge 2024, which included a gruelling 27-mile cycle, two-mile canoe and 9.6-mile hike.
Action Medical Research funds research to prevent and treat disease and disability in babies and children.
Staff who took part in the event work across Alliance Healthcare, including Alloga and Preston service centre’s warehouse teams, Exeter service centre drivers and support office teams at Chessington.
“Their combined efforts and dedication to the cause were instrumental in reaching the fundraising goal,” Alliance Healthcare said.
Its head of communications Sam Unsworth, who also participated in the event, said: “Being part of such a significant challenge for a noble cause has been an incredible experience.
“The determination and teamwork displayed by everyone has been inspiring. I'm proud that so many team members have come together once again to raise much needed funding for Action Medical Research.”
Action Medical Research’s corporate events fundraiser Lucy Holloway said: “We are immensely grateful for the continued support from Alliance Healthcare UK. The funds raised will go a long way in supporting our mission to save and change children’s lives through medical research.”
