An investment of £500,000 has improved the services of the pharmacy at Luton and Dunstable Hospital.
Bedfordshire Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust said the funds allowed the pharmacy to build a new patient waiting area, a consultation room, a redesigned dispensing area and robotic automated medication dispensary system.
The hospital’s chief executive David Carter said the money would “help support the growing needs of the Trust” and “bring a much improved service for our patients.”
Pritesh Bodalia, the chief pharmacist and clinical director, pharmacy and medicines optimisation at the Trust, said: “It has been difficult nine months for everyone who has had to work in such challenging circumstances and continue to deliver a pharmacy service for the Trust.
“We are incredibly proud of the team and all those who have been involved in the redevelopment.”
Independent Community Pharmacist has asked the Trust where the investment came from.
