A branch of Well Pharmacy in Nottinghamshire has been forced to close since Saturday July 1 after a car crashed into the building, with the company thanking staff for their “valiant efforts” in maintaining service provision.
In a statement after the incident, in which no one was hurt, the company said that for safety reasons the branch on Nottingham Road in Selston could be closed “for some time” while repairs are carried out.
Well apologised to affected patients and said that in order to maintain an “uninterrupted service” it planned to set up a “bespoke portacabin pharmacy” in a carpark on the site where staff will dispense prescriptions and offer over the counter advice. This will be up and running from Tuesday July 18 “at the latest,” it said.
Until then, the company will redirect prescriptions to a branch just over four miles away in Kirkby “with medications being delivered directly to [patients’] homes free of charge and redeliveries being arranged as needed”.
A spokesperson added: "Signage has been placed at the Well Pharmacy – Selston to keep customer informed of these plans, and the pharmacy team can be contacted on 01623 722071.
“We’d like to apologise again for any inconvenience caused and would like to thank our pharmacy team for their valiant efforts as well as our customers and patients for their continued patience and loyalty at this time.”
