The Community Pharmacy Workforce Development Group has launched a website and accompanying resources to promote careers in community pharmacy.

The website includes information and resources for students, parents and teachers about the range of different career opportunities in community pharmacy. It also includes video case studies and blogs to allow visitors to hear directly from young professionals already working in the sector.

Marc Donovan, pharmacy director at Boots UK and chair of the group, said: “Community pharmacy offers a range of exciting career opportunities, on the frontline of healthcare.

“A career in [in the sector] is extremely rewarding and whilst no two days are the same, every day pharmacy colleagues make a real different in their patients’ lives, whether that be by offering expert medicines advice, providing clinical services or acting as a friendly and supportive member of the wider healthcare team.”

The workforce group is delighted to launch this website “to share our passion and enthusiasm for community pharmacy”, he added.

The Community Pharmacy Workforce Development Group is a cross-sector collaboration representing the employer trade bodies including AIM, CCA and NPA.
