A new probiotic, Alflorex, is now available for the treatment of IBS. Manufacturer PrecisionBiotic says Alflorex is the only UK product containing the 35624 culture, part of the Bifidobacterium infantis family. In clinical studies of people with IBS, the probiotic reduced abdominal discomfort, passage of gas, bloating and distention.
