Squamous cell carcinoma (SCC) affecting the eyelids is becoming commoner in England, according to the British Journal of Ophthalmology.
Between 2000 and 2014, doctors diagnosed 4,022 patients with their first eyelid SCC. The increase over the years was equivalent to a rise of approximately 2 per cent a year. Incidence increased with age, approximately doubling every decade over the age of 60 years.
