Two pharmacies less than a mile apart in Northampton sold

Two pharmacies in Northampton which are less a mile apart and dispense a combined average of 17,500 items a month were sold for an undisclosed price in December.

Delapre Pharmacy (pictured) and Far Cotton Pharmacy, described by Christie & Co who brokered the sales as “standard-hour community and health centre pharmacies,” were owned by Vyas Limited for over 10 years.

Christie & Co said they were “brought to market to enable semi-retirement.” The pharmacies were bought by Sagar Shah, who now owns three having acquired his first one 18 months ago.

“Year-on-year, not many pharmacies come to market in Northamptonshire, so it was pleasing to complete two more this year after two last year,” said Carl Steer, director-pharmacy at Christie & Co.

“There are many pharmacists seeking a pharmacy business across the wider county and we expect this strong appetite to continue in 2025.”
