Pharmacy in Kent sold to first-time buyers

A standard hours community pharmacy in Kent that dispenses nearly 6,500 items a month has been sold to first-time buyers.

N.B. Pharmacy in Gravesend, which dispenses 6,393 monthly items according to Christie and Co who brokered the deal, was sold to Venkat and Preeti Adama from Essex for an undisclosed price.

The pharmacy had been owned by Nirmal Bajaria for 39 years before he decided to retire.

“Having run the pharmacy for around 39 years, it was a difficult decision to put the business up for sale,” he said. “I was very pleased with the high number of viewers and feel delighted that a young family bought my pharmacy.”

Mark Page, director – medical at Christie and Co who handled the sale, said: “The pharmacy received multiple bids due to its prominent trading position, proximity to the local surgeries and the main M2 motorway, as well as the potential of the business.

“I’m delighted for Venkat and Preeti, who I feel are a great fit for the area and will introduce some fresh ideas to the pharmacy. I also wish Nirmal a very happy, long, and well-deserved retirement.”
