NPA urges members to run for election to its Board

The National Pharmacy Association has urged its members to consider running for election to its Board.

The body said the election will take place in February and March this year and nominations open this month. The new Board will be finalised in the spring.

In England, three areas will be elected by members with six or more pharmacies and six regional areas will be voted for by members with one to five pharmacies. NPA members in Scotland, Wales and Northern Ireland will also elect a member on to the Board.

NPA chair Andrew Lane said: “Being on the NPA board provides a great opportunity to help shape the future of independent community pharmacy as the NPA seeks to create an environment in which our members can thrive.

“I became an NPA board member because at the time I was frustrated at decisions affecting my business being made in a place where I felt I had no control. I wanted to become involved in the shaping of these decisions, to help independent pharmacies across the UK.”
