Serious shortage protocols have been issued for Estraderm MX 25mcg and 100mcg patches in response to what the PSNC described as “a significant ongoing disruption” to their supply.

Under the SSPs, which expire on September 16, Evorel 25mcg and 100mcg patches can be supplied respectively. No SSP is in place for Estraderm MX 50mcg and 75mcg patches as they are not impacted by supply disruptions.

The PSNC reminded pharmacists not to double up strengths under the SSPs, for example supplying two Estraderm MX 50 patches to fulfil one prescription for Estraderm MX 100 patches.
