Voter turnout for English Pharmacy Board down on last year

Voter turnout in this year’s English Pharmacy Board elections was down on last year, a report by the Royal Pharmaceutical Society has revealed.

Ewan Maule, Brendon Jiang, Sharon ‘Sibby’ Buckle, Emma Boxer and Adebayo Adegbite won an election that saw 1,534 from 19,512 eligible voters cast their vote compared with 2,284 from 19,400 in 2021.

Voter turnout was 7.9 per cent and 11.8 per cent in 2022 and 2021 respectively and this year, just one vote was cast over the telephone and the rest online.

Liz Hallett was elected to the Welsh Pharmacy Board unopposed and the other two Board places remain unfilled. Joshua Miller, Richard Shearer and Jill Swan were elected to the Scottish Pharmacy Board unopposed.
