Knights Pharmacy has completed a deal to buy Cecil Jones, a family-owned chain in South Wales.
The deal takes the number of pharmacies owned by Knights to 98 in England and Wales and follows its acquisition last year of Pearns Pharmacies Limited which had 20 pharmacies in South Wales. Knights also bought Norchem Healthcare in 2015 and Vittoria Healthcare in 2017.
Anand Sodha, a director at Knights as well as the wholesaler Lexon UK, said: “Cecil Jones is another family run group of pharmacies made up of teams that have patient care at their centre just like Knights.
“After getting to know the business and having met our new colleagues, it’s clear they will fit in well with the rest of the Knights family.”
The law firm Irwin Mitchell, who have advised Knights on numerous deals over the years, helped the chain seal the deal for Cecil Jones which was described by solicitor Tom Wisniewski as “another important milestone for” Knights’ “ambitious growth plans for the future.”
“The business prides itself on serving the local community and following its values as a family-run firm, ensuring all customers are treated as individuals and receive the highest level of service,” he said.
“Cecil Jones provides a great cultural fit as it shares these values and I have no doubt they will be a great addition to the group.”
