A pharmacist in Birmingham has bought his first pharmacy after the previous owner decided to retire.
Noor Ali Shah, 30, completed a deal to buy Medicare Chemist which, according to Christie and Co who brokered the deal, is a standard hours pharmacy that dispenses an average of 8,618 items a month.
Shah, who is an independent prescriber, bought the pharmacy in Small Heath in south-east Birmingham for an undisclosed amount from Prakash Nathwani who owned it for more than 20 years.
“In the current market where sales can easily take over six months, it was nice to see a motivated seller and buyer with pharmacy specialist solicitors come together to conclude a smooth sale in less than the average timeframe,” said Carl Steer, director-pharmacy at Christie and Co.
